Common red flags
Be especially cautious when:
- A token shows an unusually large USD value.
- A token was sent to your address but does not appear to have any real value or daily trading activity.
- You are being asked to pay a fee to unlock, activate, or sell the funds.
- The token has a suspicious or unusual name, such as ERC-token***, bitcoin-crypto, or similar names designed to resemble legitimate assets.
What should I do if I’m not sure whether a crypto I received has any value?
If you receive crypto from an unknown or untrusted source, follow these steps before interacting with it:
-
Find the receiving token transaction
In your Wallet, open the transaction in your Activity and locate the receiving address. -
Validate token with Block Explorer.
Follow the instructions here: How to verify a token using a Block Explorer?
-
Check the trading volume in your Wallet
Review the token’s daily trading volume. If the volume is 0.00% or extremely low, this is a strong warning sign that the token has little or no real market value. -
The token price is not displaying
If the received token price is not displayed, is greyed out, or shows a value of 0.00, the token has not been validated and may be fraudulent. Do not interact with or attempt to transact with such tokens.

Important : If you’re unsure about a token, avoid sending, swapping, or approving transactions involving it until you’ve confirmed that it’s legitimate.
If you have any doubts, you don’t need to complete all of these checks yourself. Don’t hesitate to contact our Support team via live chat, and we’ll be happy to review the transaction and help you determine whether the token is legitimate.
