Your account security is of utmost importance to us. Here are some advanced measures you can take to enhance the security of your Blockchain wallet, ensuring the utmost protection for your digital assets.
Basic Account Protection Settings:
Recovery Phrase
It is crucial to backup securely store a Recovery Phrase for your wallet. This Recovery Phrase will allow you to restore your wallet in case of password loss or device failure. Ensure you write down your Recovery Phrase and keep it in a safe and confidential location, away from prying eyes as if someone get access to it - you may lose your funds.
Password
Your password is securely stored and never shared with Blockchain. To restore your wallet in case of a lost password, it is vital to write down your Recovery Phrase, as it is the only way to regain access.
To change your password, simply click on "Change" in your Security settings.
Two-factor authentication
2FA prevents unauthorised access to your wallet even if someone obtains your password, as they will also need your 2FA code. The code changes with each login attempt and is retrieved from your mobile device or hardware authentication device. Enabling 2FA acts as a powerful deterrent against online attacks, safeguarding your wallet.
Advanced Account Protection Settings
The advanced settings section provides additional security preferences and information. It is recommended to refrain from modifying these settings unless you have a deep understanding of their implications and are an experienced cryptocurrency user.
IP Whitelist
By specifying a list of comma-separated IP addresses, you can allow logins without email verification from those specific addresses. You can use "%" as a wildcard. This option requires a verified email address.
Login IP Restriction
To further restrict access to your account, you can choose to allow logins only from specified IP addresses in the whitelist. However, please note that enabling this option without a static IP address may potentially lock you out of your wallet.
Wallet Access via Tor
If you are not familiar with Tor or have no intention of using it, we strongly recommend enabling this option by clicking on "Block". This will prevent Tor network IP addresses from attempting to access your wallet.
Password Stretching (PBKDF2)
Increasing the number of password stretching iterations (default is 5000) enhances protection against brute-force attacks. However, be aware that higher values may lead to slower loading and saving of your wallet.
API Access
