What are Options?
Options let you trade on whether a cryptocurrency's price will finish above or below a specified price at expiry. You pay upfront, and your payout depends on the final settlement price.
How much do I need to start?
The minimum premium is currently $5, plus applicable fees. You'll need USDC in your Blockchain.com Trading Account.
Which cryptocurrencies can I trade?
You can trade Options on the cryptocurrencies available in the Options interface. Available assets may change over time.
Can I lose more than I invest?
No. Your maximum trading loss is the premium and upfront fee you pay when purchasing the Option.
Can I close my Option early?
No. Options must be held until expiry and cannot be sold or closed early.
Can I change my target price or expiry date?
No. Once purchased, the Option's strike price and expiry time are fixed, subject to exceptional circumstances under the Options Agreement.
When do Options expire?
Each Option expires at the date and time shown before you confirm your purchase.
What happens if my Option expires worthless?
You receive no payout and lose the premium and upfront fee you paid.
Can my Option pay out even if I lose money?
Yes. If your payout is less than your total purchase cost, you'll make an overall loss.
What fees apply?
A premium fee is charged when you purchase an Option. A settlement fee applies only if the gross payout exceeds the premium you paid. You'll see the applicable fees in your quote.
Where will I receive my payout?
Any settlement payment will be credited automatically to your Blockchain.com Trading Account, normally in USDC.
Why can't I trade Options?
Options may be unavailable due to your location, account eligibility, verification status, insufficient funds or temporary restrictions.
