How to deposit GHS via Mobile Money (MoMo)

GHS deposits made with their Mobile Money are now available for our clients in  Ghana. 

• A valid Mobile Money number must start with country code +233.
• The Mobile Money number saved for deposits can be different from the phone number you use for 2FA in Settings.
• In order to link this your phone number for the future withdrawals you need to make a successfull deposit first. Hence, if you decide to change your number, or a mobile provider you will need to link your number again by making a small deposit that you can withdraw afterwards.
• Your Blockchain.com account can have only one Mobile Money phone number on file at a time. How to change your linked Mobile Money number?
• Minimum Deposit Amount: 50 GHS
• Maximum Deposit Amount per Transaction - 25,000 GHS
• Fee: 1.6% of the deposit amount, capped at 30 GHS

• Once you add and verify a Mobile Money number, it will be saved and automatically pre‑filled the next time you deposit or withdraw GHS.

   

How to deposit GHS with Mobile Money?

1. Toggle from Wallet to Trading at the top if needed.
2. Request Deposit:
   • On the App: Go to the Cash & Stablecoins section of the app and tap Deposit, or click on Ghanian Cedi.
   • On Web: Click Deposit button and select Ghanian Cedi currency from the list:

2. Under Deposit GHS, tap Mobile Money.
3. If you have not yet set up a Mobile Money number, choose your Mobile Network (for example, MTN).
4. Enter your Ghanaian Mobile Money number in local format, with country code +233 pre‑filled and then tap Continue to proceed. 
   If you already have a linked Mobile Money number, it will appear automatically on the list.
5. On the Deposit cash screen, enter the amount of GHS you want to deposit.
6. Review any fees, the total amount, and the processing time shown on the confirmation screen, then tap Deposit GHS to continue.
7. After confirming, a security screen will prompt you to complete the payment from your Mobile Money app or via USSD confirmation.

8. When the payment is confirmed, you will see a respective in-app message and your GHS balance will update shortly, usually within a few minutes.

Important:

• For your security, you must complete OTP verification every time you deposit GHS via Mobile Money, even if you have used the same number before. Withdrawals do not require additional OTP verification.
   

Check "Activity" to view your transaction history

• Every GHS deposit or withdrawal appears in your Activity section, with status (Pending, Completed, or Failed), time, amount, and the Mobile Money number used.
• You can open any deposit entry to see full transaction details, including fees and processing notes, which makes it easy to confirm a successful deposit or troubleshoot a failed one.

How to change your linked Mobile Money number?

To remove / change your Mobile Money number:

1. Navigate to your Profile.
2. Scroll down to "Linked payment methods".
3. Choose the linked number and click "Remove Account".

Now you can add a new phone number.
