Losing access to your wallet can be stressful. However, your recovery options depend on the type of wallet you have—a Blockchain.com Account (custodial) or a DeFi Wallet (non-custodial).
📌 Before proceeding, we strongly advise reviewing our Complete Account Recovery Guide.
Why? The recovery process is different for each wallet type, and resetting your password will not restore DeFi Wallet funds. Acting too quickly could result in permanent loss of access to your crypto.
⚠️ Take a minute to understand your options before moving forward.
🔹 If You Have a Blockchain.com Account (Custodial Wallet)
If you have a Blockchain.com Account, your funds are stored in a custodial wallet, which means Blockchain.com manages security and can help you recover access.
How to Recover Your Account:
✔ Reset your password—No Recovery Phrase needed.
✔ Identity verification may be required—You may need to re-verify your identity to regain access to custodial features like Buy/Sell, Swap, and Rewards.

📌 Important: If you also use a DeFi Wallet, resetting your password does not recover your DeFi funds. Keep reading for DeFi recovery steps.
🔹 If You Have a DeFi Wallet (Non-Custodial Wallet)
A DeFi Wallet is fully controlled by you, meaning Blockchain.com cannot reset or recover passwords. The only way to recover access is with your 12-word Recovery Phrase.
How to Restore Access:
1️⃣ Go to this link and click "Recover via Recovery Phrase".
2️⃣ Enter your 12-word Recovery Phrase exactly as written.
3️⃣ Create a new password to restore your wallet.
🚨 Important:
- If the "Continue" button is inactive or you receive an “Invalid Recovery Phrase” error, then the Recovery Phrase entered is incorrect.
- Without the correct password or Recovery Phrase, your DeFi Wallet and any funds inside cannot be recovered.
- Resetting your Blockchain.com Account password creates a new DeFi Wallet and does not restore your previous DeFi Wallet.
